    HDI boards refer to circuit boards produced through high-density micro-wiring and micro-via technology. It is a relatively new technology that developed in the PCB industry at the end of the 20th century. Compared with traditional PCBS, it uses laser drilling technology (also known as laser boards), with smaller holes, narrower circuits, and significantly reduced solder pads. More line distributions can be obtained within all unit areas, leading to high-density interconnection.     Purpose of HCT Test:

    HDI process PCB board HCT current endurance test The current endurance test is a testing method for the reliability of the interconnection of holes in printed circuit board products, especially when passing through the wave soldering/reflow soldering oven, whether it can maintain a stable state without damage in a high-temperature environment. At present, major manufacturers need printed circuit board suppliers to introduce HCT testing. The current resistance test involves applying a certain direct current to a specially designed hole chain and maintaining it for a period of time. The current generates Joule heat on the hole chain, which is transferred to the substrate near the hole chain. The substrate expands due to heat, generating Z-direction expansion stress that causes blind hole fracture, thereby detecting the interconnection reliability performance of the hole chain.

    HCT Test Determination Method:Apply a certain current to the coupon sample to make it rise to the specified temperature (commonly used temperatures are 180℃,220℃,240℃, and 260℃) within 60 seconds. During this period, there should be no overcircuit or open circuit. If the resistance value before the test and the resistance value after cooling at the end of the test change by no more than 5%, it is considered qualified.
